- Lead, maintain, and enhance Discover's regulatory change process and the Regulatory Library inventory.
- Demonstrate Discover Behaviors while overseeing day-to-day operations of regulatory change processes.
- Identify, monitor, analyze, communicate and track International and Domestic regulatory changes.
- Work with Legal partners to assess applicability of International and State Regulatory Changes.
- Monitor, communicate, and track state laws relevant to the Company.
- Create and uphold procedures or standards to effectively manage regulatory change.
- Implement and maintain appropriate controls to ensure compliance.
- Oversee technology solutions impacting regulatory change processes and drive the adoption of new technologies for improved efficiency.
- Develop actionable reporting and metrics for better risk management.
- Provide training related to the regulatory change process.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure timely communication and implementation of regulatory changes.
- May lead a team, offering coaching, development, and performance management.
- Make independent decisions to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Offer proactive risk management support and strategic guidance to colleagues and business clients.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or Internal Audit in the Financial Services sector.
- Bachelor's of Law Degree.
- 2+ years of Legal Risk Management or Operations experience.
- 2+ years of experience using GRC systems, Tableau, and Microsoft Suite.

Legal Specialist at Discover
Are you ready to take on a challenging role that involves leading, maintaining, and enhancing a Legal Organization's regulatory change program? Look no further, as we are seeking a Legal Specialist to join our team at Discover. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Legal Library inventory of laws and regulations, as well as leading the Identification, Communication, Assessment, and Planning process related to legal matters. Collaborate with Attorneys, Corporate Compliance, and Business Partners to ensure seamless communication and implementation of regulatory changes across the Company. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, attorneys, and business partners, showcasing your strong leadership skills and delivering impactful outcomes.
