- Prepare work as directed by the teacher
- File student papers
- Escort and supervise students
- Supervise student's playtime
- Facilitate students in the library checking out books and returning books
- Assist with field trip arrangements
- Work with small groups for tutorial or enrichment purposes
- Substitute for the teacher when needed- short term
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected by classroom teachers
- Assist with daily classroom routine
- Other duties as assigned
- Return voice-mail/e-mail messages in a timely manner
- Communicate regularly with parents
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
- Verify student absences and maintain daily attendance and safety logs.
- Demonstrate a respectful demeanor with staff, students, and parents
- Observe utmost confidentiality regarding parent, student, staff information/conversations
- Supervise playground and other areas of duty as the role may require
- Perform other related duties as assigned which may include serving meals to children in the program, assisting with basic hygiene, assistance in the development of independent toileting and conduct basic cleaning and sanitizing during the school day
- Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
- Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
- The ability to work within the basic tenets of the Catholic Faith
- Must have an understanding of child development and skills necessary to relate to the students being serviced
- Must be able to use the classroom management system and techniques that are established for the classroom
- Must work cooperatively with the assigned teacher and other staff members
- Must be organized, and have the ability to be attentive to detail
- Exhibit a professional demeanor
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work with technology; knowledge of Apple products and other software
- Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom. While standing the Instructional Aide will frequently hold objects they are working with or demonstrating
- Sit on an occasional basis
- Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Walk on both even and uneven surfaces.
- Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending.
- Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity; may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at the class.
- Assist in moving children's desks and chairs to change the layout of the classroom to influence the learning situation. It is occasionally necessary to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 30 pounds from the office to classrooms.

Our Catholic school is seeking multiple qualified and passionate instructional aides to join our faculty. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting the teaching of students in all subject areas. The ideal candidate should possess a solid academic background, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to Catholic education. This position is for the 2024 – 2025 school year.
