Position Overview
The Corporate Controller will lead all accounting operations and oversee the integrity of the company's financial reporting. This individual will be responsible for managing the monthly close process, maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and partnering with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting foundation, prior public accounting experience, and progressive industry experience outside of financial services.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, fixed assets, inventory (if applicable), and payroll
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies
Manage external audits and serve as primary liaison with auditors and tax advisors
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in partnership with FP&A and executive leadership
Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Qualifications
CPA required
7–15 years of progressive accounting experience
Prior public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm preferred)
Industry experience in non-financial services sectors (e.g., consumer products, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, media, real estate operating companies, etc.)
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting matters (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, business combinations)
Experience managing or supporting audits
Proven ability to lead teams and improve processes in a growing environment
Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
