    Position Overview

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sourcing and Readiness Team Lead to join our team at Navistar Procurement.

    This is a leadership role that requires exceptional management skills, as you will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of 4 sourcing and readiness managers in driving quality execution and on-time New Product Launches.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Support and mentor team members to ensure their growth and success.
    • Manage team metrics and performance goals to achieve excellence.
    • B uild strong relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and management to drive business results.
    • Interact with vendors and cross-functional teams to source products that meet the CMT strategy, cost, timing, and quality targets for the program.
    • Negotiate cost, tooling, and timing to ensure program targets are met.
    • Create and monitor supplier implementation plans to align with program expectations.
    • Anticipate and triage potential problems to minimize risks.
    • Drive initiatives that support the team with activity tracking and early risk identification.
    • Regularly report on team status with respect to various programs.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • At least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
    • At least 2 years of management experience OR Master's degree.
    • At least 6 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
    • At least 2 years of management experience OR At least 10 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
    • At least 2 years of management experience.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
    • Navistar does not anticipate providing employment-related work sponsorship for this position.

    Desired Skills:

    • Demonstrated record of success with formal and informal leadership.
    • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
    • Familiarity with truck and/or engine products and components.
    • A strong understanding of Procurement desirable.
    • Excellent project management & organizational skills.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate to all levels within the organization and supply base.
    • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Well-honed critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Negotiation experience.
    • Quickly learn new concepts.
    • New Product Development Implementation experience desirable.
