    Position: Athletic Trainer- Maternity Leave/Assistant AT

    Job responsibilities:

    This position will be full time August 12th -December 20th with workdays M-F with occasional Saturday responsibilities during the leave period. Typical day will go from 10:00am-6:30pm. From January 6th- June 6th the position will transition to a .5 FTE Assistant Athletic Trainer with expected hours of 2:00-6pm M-F. Occasional Saturday may substitute for a weekday. Flexibility in schedule is available as needed to provide comprehensive care for competitions.

    The Athletic Trainer is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the athletic training room, documentation of athletic injuries and record management in Magnus Health, implementing specific treatment protocols, including therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation programs for individual athletes, providing medical coverage for home athletic events and practices, travel for away games as schedule allows, and post-season game coverage is expected. The Athletic Trainer will work with Overlake School staff to manage other duties as needed. The Athletic Trainer reports to the director of Health & Wellness and collaborates with Athletic Department to complete assigned tasks.

    The Athletic Trainer will work to prevent, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate injuries and illnesses of student-athletes in accordance with athletic training room policies and procedures during practices and competitions. The Athletic Trainer must be able to make appropriate referrals to outside medical professionals when necessary. Contact information for local resources will be provided. This individual is responsible for communicating with parents, faculty, administration, athletic department, physicians, other health-care professionals, and coaches about the health status of student-athletes.

    Compensation:

    This position is salaried with an annual sum of $52,000-60,000. This is a one-year position.

    Requirements

    • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
    • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Washington or license eligible before start of employment.
    • CPR/First Aid for the Professional Rescuer or AHA BLS certification
    • This position requires evening and weekend hours.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • CPR/ First Aid instructor or willingness to become certified prior to start of employment
    • Knowledge of IMPACT/SWAY balance concussion software
    • Comfort utilizing electronic medical records, Magnus health preferred
