- Perform basic calculations based on assignment i.e. hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, piling or rebar calculations, or calculations to balance site earthwork.

- Channel and culvert hydraulics.
- Highway capacity software.
- Traffic impact analysis.
- Flexible pavement design and rigid pavement design.
- Geometric pavement and site circulation design.
- Roadway Plan/Profile design drawings
- Site grading and earthwork computations.
- Traffic signal design.
- An understanding of materials and methods.
- Interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs.
- Regularly has work assignments checked by peer or supervisor.
- Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings;
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction;
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3Dsoftware;
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering;
- Must have passed the fundamental portion of professional engineering licensing exam or be actively pursuing a passing score.
- Prior direct experience is preferred but no prior direct experience is required for an entry level position. However, a working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible is preferred.
