    We are currently looking for a Temporary Group Member (Non-exempt) in Michigan

    Job Description

    Type of Position: ContractLocation: MichiganTitle: Temporary Group Member (Non-exempt)Reports to: Production SuperintendentIndirectly Reports to: Group Leader(Pay range: $18-$20)

    The garden group member is responsible for a wide variety of gardening and maintenance activities under the supervision of the group leader. These responsibilities may include planting, pruning, laying brick (pavers) and stones, operating hand tools, as well as small and large equipment.

    Position Summary:

    • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the workplace and yard
    • Learn new tasks and ways of doing things daily on job sites and in the yard
    • Installation of material according to design specifications under the direction of the group leader
    • Installation of weed barrier, grass, decorative rock, mulch, etc.
    • Installation and maintenance of planters, annuals, perennials, and pots
    • Ability to operate light and heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools
    • Keep work vehicles and equipment clean and organized
    • Perform daily safety inspections of equipment and routine maintenance as needed
    • Ability to communicate professionally with clients and co-workers
    • Ability to follow instructions given by your group leader, assistant group leaders, superintendents, and management
    • Assist in loading materials in the yard for the following day
    • Perform other specified tasks or duties by your supervisory staff
    • Ensure all jobs are: profitable, of quality, and the client is satisfied
    • Maintain a professional appearance at all times

    Requirements:

    • Preferably some experience in the gardening industry, but not mandatory
    • Must have a positive attitude and appearance
    • Ability to work with a team and other crew members
    • Takes pride in their work
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to keep the workspace clean and organized
    • Quick learner and enjoys hard work
    • Safety-minded
