- Performs various diagnostic procedures, including complex ones, using state-of-the-art computerized MRI equipment.
- Demonstrates competency in MRI exams, procedures, and the utilization of pressurized injection equipment.
- Assists Radiologists in invasive and biopsy procedures by precisely locating anatomical positions using MRI equipment.
- Programs the computer post-procedure to ensure correct exam completion and proper storage of scan data on PACS for future reference.
- Coordinates and prioritizes procedures throughout the day to uphold high levels of patient care and continuity.
- Ensures accurate coding and entry of charges in the billing system.
- Maintains competence with all age groups to complete studies appropriately.
- Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet unique needs and characteristics of each patient.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards set by regulatory entities and the hospital.

The position of MRI Technologist involves working independently to perform complex and specialized procedures using a wide variety of imaging equipment and computers. The role includes providing basic MRI screening for patients and employees, participating in maintenance, repairs, and Quality Assurance (QA) activities, as well as resolving MRI safety issues. The ideal candidate must possess the knowledge to make quick and highly technical decisions to accommodate physical restrictions and pathology. Ongoing involvement in MR education, safety protocols, quality assurance, and technological advancements is essential. CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is the region's largest acute care medical facility, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It serves as the leading emergency facility in the area and houses the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with specialized physicians and nurses.
