Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a home health position in Aroostook County, ME.

Responsibilities

• Home health setting covering Aroostook County with Presque Isle as the primary area
• Typical caseload of 20-25 patients per therapist, mostly serving adults with post-ortho surgeries, fall risks, and mobility issues
• May occasionally see school-age children
• Daily travel of miles within the coverage area is expected
• Uses Netsmart EMR for documentation
• Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with the option for four 10-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation required: 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 4-6 weeks
• No on-call responsibilities
• Coverage of 50% of holidays during the contract is expected
• Responsibilities include assessing and treating adult patients with mobility or post-surgical needs in their homes
• PT leads, a scheduler, and phone support from a department leader are available
• 1-2 weeks of department-specific orientation provided
• Business casual attire or any solid-colored scrubs are acceptable
• Flu vaccination is required for all start dates after 9/30/2024, with medical exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates who have ever worked at a Northern Light Health hospital as a permanent employee are not eligible
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet experience requirements
• RTO requests must be approved by management prior to the assignment

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent PT experience; home health experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy required
• Active ME state license or compact license required; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance required
• Experience with adult and post-surgical populations is essential
• Ability to travel daily within the coverage area
