    Research Associate III - Molecular Diagnostics Assay Development

    Location: Pleasanton, CA

    8 month Contract (Great potential to extend)

    Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

    Pay Rate: $70/hr.

    On behalf of our client a pharmaceutical client specializing in medical devices for the life sciences industry, we are seeking for a Research Associate III that will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of molecular assays. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing molecular biology experiments, with a strong emphasis on data documentation and presentation to technical audiences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Advance the development of innovative molecular diagnostics assays that will ultimately benefit patients by designing, executing, and analyzing complex experimental studies.
    • Contribute to the creation of innovative solutions by collaborating with others and engaging in problem solving/ troubleshooting efforts.
    • Perform data analysis and documention.
    • Support the development of sustainable lab processes by participating in initiatives such as 5S, My Green Lab and the International Freezer Challenge.
    • Drive scientific excellence by following good laboratory practices ensuring the integrity and safety of our work which is essential for a successful execution of our projects.

    Education and Experience:

    Minimum of 4 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in molecular biology or related life science field, OR minimum of 2 years of experience with a master's degree in a related field.

    • Direct experience with nucleic acid technology, particularly PCR, qPCR, and/or digital PCR.
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis programs such as JMP, MiniTab, or R.
    • Strong writing skills for clear documentation of plans, reports, and SOPs.
    • Experience with Nucleic Acid extraction, NGS Library preparation, and liquid handlers is a plus for this role.
