About the Role:
Job Title:
Optical Network Engineer III
Key Responsibilities:
Actively provide testing for Ciena and Infinera hardware and software.
Assist significantly in speeding up testing and certifications.
Ensure there are no delays in certifications of new hardware and software.
Participates in optical network planning, network architecture design and engineering.
Evaluates new optical products performs network problem resolution (Cisco NCS2K, Infinera DTN-X, Nokia PSS-1830, Ciena 6500 – S)
Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
Ability to conduct lab testing of software and new hardware.
Develop a plan of record for software and EMS system with vendors.
Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.
Works on projects/ systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization.
Facilitate communications with employees and other departments by holding or attending meetings, preparing reports, and participating on tasks forces.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of Network Engineering experience
Advanced data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)
Relevant experience with one (or more) of the following optical platform: 6500, DTN-X, NCS2k, PSS-1030
Advanced knowledge of fiber characterization and all the associated optical impairments
Advanced knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
Advanced knowledge of CDC-F technologies

Greenwood Village, CO
Salary Range:
The salary for this position is between $90,000 – $95,000 annually.
Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
