    Surgical Technologist PRN at UCHealth Summary:

    A Surgical Technologist at UCHealth facilitates safe and efficient surgical procedures by preparing operating suites, ensuring the functionality of instruments and equipment, and assisting surgeons during operations.

    This role requires critical thinking and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, appropriate registration, and experience or relevant education in surgical technology.

    Job Description

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
    • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
    • Passes instruments to physician during surgery.
    • Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
    • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

    Requirements

    • Surgical Tech
    • Surgical Assistant
    • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED or Military trained
    • State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
    • 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
    • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
