- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning and promote skill development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth, independence, and self-advocacy.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure student progress and success.
- Assess student progress regularly, modify instruction as needed, and maintain accurate records of student performance and achievement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and instructional methodologies.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Valid teaching license with a 165 endorsement or eligibility for endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a self-contained or inclusive classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior management techniques, and differentiated instruction strategies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
