    Description

    The primary responsibility of the Senior DevSecOps Engineer will be to analyze, design, and review deployment methodologies and integrate cloud services to ensure the Army's Big Data Platform (BDP) is operationalized effectively.

    The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will provide the team with substantive experience and expertise in both enterprise cloud deployments and DoD Cloud Access Point (CAP), Boundary CAP (BCAP), and Cloud Native Application Platform (CNAP) deployments.

    The position will support the development and implementation of Cloud infrastructures, orchestration and service design and delivery for Cloud implementations.

    The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will be supporting Cloud Implementation and Cybersecurity initiatives at the DoD and Army level.

    The position will be required to conduct design and analysis, applying a multi-disciplinary approach to deliver next-generation technology and services to cloud platforms.

    The Engineer must be able to convey technical and operational considerations orally and in written formats at various levels of understanding from senior leadership to detailed technical discussions with engineering staff.

    The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will deliver support to both new design and implementation efforts as well as existing, deployed cloud infrastructures and services.

    Required Skills:
    AWS professional certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Cloud Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, etc.)
    DoD TS / SCI Clearance
    Ability to work on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA

    16+ years of IT experience with a High School diploma, 12+ years of IT experience with a Bachelors, 10+ years of IT experience with a Masters, 8+ years of IT experience with a PhD.

    8+ years of experience with cloud technologies

    Coordinate the design or review of secure internet protocols and ensure security services and features are up to date.

    Assist in recommending Cloud architecture strategies, processes, and methodologies.
    Develop a well-informed cloud approach and monitor implementation.
    Examine cloud apps, hardware, and software on a regular basis.
    Oversee the management of cloud-based systems and ensure alignment with management plans.
    Provide technical guidance as required to support operations.
    Assist with infrastructure migration strategies.
    Review existing cloud architecture and identify areas for improvement.
    Translating requirements into a cloud structure with consideration for costs, resource use and scalability requirements.
    Monitor utilization to ensure capabilities are operating as designed.

    Support the cyber security team as required to ensure the system maintains a good security posture; and operates within the parameters of the ATO.

    Involved in design and implementation of best fit solution with respect to multi-cloud ecosystem.

    Deep understanding of components provided by the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) and be well versed with the architected framework, deployment technologies.

    Understand and communicate the CSP network and security engineering principles to the team.

    Support APM teams with configuration management, orchestration, and management tooling to ensure cloud environments meet operational and security standards.

    Good communication skills with the ability to work with fluid requirements and shape them in collaboration with other team members.

    Oversee DoD CAP / BCAP / CNAP deployments efforts.
    Hands-on experience with at least one cloud orchestration platform (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, CloudStack)
    Hands-on experience with container orchestration services
    Demonstrated knowledge of cloud orchestration platforms
    Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
    Knowledge of interpreting architectures and frameworks for cloud infrastructure and services.

    Preferred Skills:
    B.S. Computer Science, Electrical or Computer/Electrical Engineering or Information Technology, and/or combination of education and work experience equivalent
    CISSP, CISA or equivalent required. (DoD IAM or IAT level 3)
    MCSA, Linux+, RHSCA, CCNA or equivalent
    Security+, GSEC, GSNA, CEH or similar certification desirable
    Experience managing and operating cloud orchestration platform(s).
    Experience in designing and implementing a cloud service(s).
    Experience with large scale infrastructure management tools such as: Puppet, Chef, SMS, Satellite, etc.

    Knowledge of interpreted and compiled computer programming languages such as Python, Java, C, Objective C, C++, C Sharp, SQL, Tcl, Perl, PHP.

    Assembly, CUDA, and GPU language experience desirable.

    Knowledge of advanced computing technologies such as parallel processing, in-memory databases, graph databases and graph theory, machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks.

    Knowledge of network protocols and file format specifications.
    Knowledge of storage systems and storage engineering practices
    Knowledge of capacity management for cloud infrastructures
    Knowledge of application, network, and host level security devices, software, and services
    Demonstrated history in engineering design and implementation
    Demonstrated history in service design and/or delivery
    Demonstrated history in security engineering and concepts

    Job Type:

    $180, $210,000.00 per year
