    Description

    The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads equipment and automation strategies, driving continuous improvement for operational efficiency, quality enhancement, and cost reduction. They manage a team of engineers focused on production and process improvements.

    Key Metrics:

    • Labor Variance to Standard %
    • Cost of Poor Quality Reduction (e.g., scrap)
    • Cost Reduction Target Achievement
    • Production Schedule Attainment %

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise team to optimize material flow and production efficiency.
    • Innovate production methods to meet quality and ergonomic standards.
    • Increase production uptime and reduce defects through equipment upgrades.
    • Lead cost-saving part, product, and process enhancements.
    • Allocate resources for new projects and continuous improvements.
    • Champion Design for Manufacturing/Automation.
    • Optimize plant layout and workflow for maximum output.
    • Collaborate with Quality to resolve process issues.
    • Analyze data for management reporting.
    • Manage department budget and resources.

    People Management:

    • Evaluate team performance and development needs.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and standards.
    • Assign tasks and provide feedback for quality work.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
    • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years in management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
    • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically.

    Preferred:

    • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification.
    • Robotics and automation experience.
    • New product qualification experience.
    • Proficiency with CAD systems.

    Management:

    Oversees approximately 7 direct reports.
