    Description
    Loan Processor/Closer-

    you will be based mainly in Pompano (with occasional travels to other branches as needed.)


    BASIC PURPOSES:


    As a Loan Processor/Closer, you will be responsible for processing mortgages and other various types of loans from receipt of the completed application.

    Gathers and verifies loan documents for accuracy, underwriting and its approval process.
    Prepares Loan Estimates, CDs and Closing Statements (HUD-1) according to regulatory requirements.
    Inputs and updates loan data into the loan origination software.
    Prepares loan packages and coordinates all loan closings.
    Frequent contacts with MLOs (Mortgage Loan Officers), attorneys, title agencies, appraisal companies etc.
    Some responsibilities related to post-closing and servicing of the loans and/or accounts.
    Preparation of various ad-hoc reports as needed (checklists, internal controls).
    Reports to the Vice-President Business Development and Chief Business Development Officer


    RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN ACTIVITIES:


    Maintains technical knowledge of underwriting requirements, to meet Compliance and according to the Lending Policies and Procedures of the Bank.

    Periodically interacts with VP Credit, Credit Analyst, MLOs, and clients.

    Receives and reviews mortgages or other loan product application documents as well as other related information for completeness and accuracy.

    Sets up loan application files, logs available information, obtains missing or additional data concerning income, references, credit checks and other necessary information to prepare file for underwriting.

    Prepares the appropriate documents such as RESPA, commitment letters and/or denial letters, as required by various "Compliance Instructions" and/or Regulations.

    Is responsible for necessary data entries for each phase of processing to existing bank loan documentation software.
    Prepare early disclosures, order appraisal reports and other supporting documentation.

    Executes closing package within expected time frame of banks procedure and is responsible for funding of Loan on closing date.

    Interacts with loan origination personnel from origination through closing, to ensure quality processed loans and ensures that all processing steps meet compliance with regulatory and Natbank's Lending Policies and Procedures.

    Maintains a close working relationship with the Loan Servicer.
    Complete required annual Compliance training courses
    Other duties as required as deemed necessary by Management


    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND BUSINESS COMPETENCIES:


    High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Loan processing OR general banking OR Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Loan processing OR general banking.

    Knowledge of Mortgage Regulations including HMDA, TRID, RESPA, REG B
    Basic familiarity with Financial Services Industry
    Strong knowledge and application of Microsoft office products
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
    Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated
    Bilingualism both spoken and written (English and French), a strong asset.
