Overview:
As an Network Engineer (Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst), you will be part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Team working under the direction of the Enterprise Infrastructure Director. Your main objective will be to ensure the stability and optimization of the infrastructure that supports the business. You will work closely with the central IT department located in Belgium to ensure consistency with the rest of the company's operations around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Server Infrastructure
Provision and configure Windows servers using VMware
Monitor and troubleshoot server backup processes
Familiarity with Microsoft Infrastructure such as DNS, DHCP, SQL platforms, and more
Validate and apply patches in different environments (Windows, Vcenter, Qnap, Synology, Veeam, etc)
Support Network Infrastructure
High level of understanding of TCP/IP
Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and availability
Support WAN/LAN connectivity to remote sites across North America
Proficient network knowledge, particularly Cisco cli for installing and configuring L3/L2 switching
Assist with IT/OT network segregation and convergence within industrial environments
Support Sustainable Growth of the Business
Provide direction and support to local teams regarding Infrastructure direction
Effectively communicate standards to other Lhoist personnel in a direct but customer-friendly way
Identify areas for improvement
Drive standardization in your responsible regions
Document processes/procedures for first level
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of VMWare, Windows Server, Cisco IOS, IPT, IPv4, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, Powershell
Demonstrated competency in the execution of projects and in developing efficient and effective solutions
Proven troubleshooting skills
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with peers in US and Europe
Open to a multicultural environment
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines
Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs
Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint software
Required Experience: Minimum 5 years experience with proven success providing systems or network support
Preferred Education: Bachelors degree in IT or technical related field or equivalent work experience in the field is desired
