- Provide a warm welcome to guests, use their names, confirm the party size, inquire about seating preferences and needs, walk guests to their tables at their pace, notify guests of any steps or inclines, and communicate special requirements to servers and managers.
- Present menus to guests, keep track of guest presence at tables, return to the lobby to greet guests, and monitor the dining room for guests ready to leave.
- Be knowledgeable about the floor layout, server assignments, and table numbers.
- Maintain an up-to-date seating chart and cover count.
- Check menus for cleanliness and freshness, replace when needed.
- Inspect the dining area and jade bar, rectify any irregularities such as burnt-out lights or furniture issues.
- Ensure cleanliness in the dining room and on the floors, take necessary actions to maintain standards.
- Accurately and politely handle reservations.
- Answer calls with a good understanding of resort and restaurant operations, or direct guests accordingly.
- Express gratitude to departing guests, invite them to return, inquire about their dining experience, and escalate any guest concerns to the manager.
- Before closing, check for cleanliness and set up the station for the next day.
- Attend all staff meetings and additional training sessions as scheduled.
- Have knowledge of emergency safety protocols.
- Foster a positive work environment by interacting and communicating effectively with guests, suppliers, colleagues, and management.
- Undertake extra duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Due to frequent interactions with the public, personal grooming is crucial and must comply with the appearance guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist guests.
- Remain composed and efficient in a high-pressure work setting.
- Have a pleasant voice and telephone manners.
- Effective listening, clear English communication skills in speaking and writing.
- Build rapport with guests during challenging service situations, handle inquiries professionally, and contribute positively to teamwork with colleagues.
- Ability to recognize, address, and resolve conflicts.
- Maintain safety practices and promptly report any unsafe conditions to security personnel.
- Promote exceptional guest relationships while embodying the Sanctuary Commitments.
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent. Must hold a valid Food Handler's Card.
- Related Work Experience: Previous experience in restaurant operations is preferred. Background in hospitality and customer service is essential.

JOB SUMMARY
This role plays a key part in Sanctuary's achievements by being a valuable member of the Food and Beverage service team. Welcome and guide guests with warmth and sincerity. Leave a lasting positive impression and ensure guests leave the restaurant content. Manage seating arrangements efficiently and communicate guest requests effectively to servers and management.
