    Description

    Job Title: Truck Driver/Transloader

    Birmingham, AL

    This is a full-time, hourly position.

    The driver must be able to plan trips, breaks, fuel stops, customer appointments, weather, traffic & construction, city and rural driving conditions and manage unforeseen circumstances.

    The driver will sit for extended periods of time while traveling.

    Equipment can include but is not limited to semi-truck, tank trailers, dry van, and pneumatic, pumps, hoses, and valves.

    The driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently transferring, loading and unloading product according to company and customer instructions.

    Salary:

    $45,000 - $65,000 per year (based on experience)

    Duties:

    • Perform daily equipment inspection and document any mechanical defects
    • Follow posted speed limits and other roadway signage
    • Operate in-cab computer systems and keep dispatch updated with ETA and other pertinent information
    • Work and adapt to potentially stressful situations, traffic, customer delays, weather conditions
    • Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of terminal operations and promote a teamwork focused environment

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
    • Ability to write simple correspondence
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
    • Two years verifiable over the road or local tractor trailer experience within the last seven years

    Certifications/Licenses:

    • CDL with proper endorsements for your operation
    • Current FMCSA medical certification
