    Description

    The Registered Nurse (RN) specializes in working with patients undergoing cardiac procedures in a catheterization lab.

    • Administers patient medications
    • Assists in diagnostic procedures and interventional procedures
    • Circulates and scrubs during cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
    • Responsible for discharge teaching with patients and families, including procedural, medications, activities, care of the surgical site, and lifestyle/dietary changes
    • Ensures consent paperwork is accurately completed
    • Performs examination of the patient pre and post-catheterization
    • Manages administrative aspects of cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology patients
    • Monitors and documents patient vital signs
    • Monitors for signs and symptoms of infections or side effects of the procedure
    • Monitors patient sedation levels during and after the procedure
    • Prepares patients for procedures

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Registered Nurse with a current state license where they will be working
    • ACLS may be required by state/client contract
    • Minimum of 2 years critical care or Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred
    • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
    • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
    • Current CPR if applicable
    • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
    • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
    • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
    • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
    • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
    • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
    • Computer proficiency required
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
