    WSP is currently recruiting a full time Senior Project Manager to join our Property & Buildings team in Seattle, Washington.

    The ideal candidate will have a background in building design and project management and will possess a high level of technical knowledge and project management skills necessary to successfully lead a team of experienced design professionals.


    In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary design teams for a wide variety of project types across many market sectors.


    You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge, skills, and responsibilities in engineering, project management, and client engagement, while you help to deliver outstanding projects to WSP's clients.

    Your Impact

    Lead multidisciplinary project teams from project inception through completion.

    Develop and implement project work plans, budgets, and schedules, and obtain management/client approval.

    Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status and project quality, and proactively resolve issues.


    Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients and vendors, regulatory authorities and technical agencies, and the public.

    This involves keeping the stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables and meet the project schedule.


    Proactively manage, track, analyze, and report on actual performance against plan, and prepare cost and schedule reporting both for clients and as part of internal reporting processes.

    Address change management matters promptly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.


    Analyze project management and project delivery risks, establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating mitigating action.


    Lead and manage business development initiatives including Requests for Qualifications and Requests for Proposals; with input from others, compile a comprehensive and realistic scope of work, and prepare a complete and accurate fee estimate, in a format suitable for obtaining the required management approvals and submittal to clients.

    Provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project.

    Maintain all project records and monitor correspondence, either directly or through delegation to an assistant or deputy Project Manager.

    Schedule and facilitate all project meetings required to successfully coordinate work activity.

    Schedule and lead multi-disciplinary coordination efforts with the support of discipline or task leads.

    Administer subconsultant agreements as assigned.

    Develop, implement, and manage Project Safety and Project Quality Control plans throughout the project.

    Proactively track and report workload management throughout the project.

    Management of client and subconsultant invoicing.

    Review contract claims and advise senior management.

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical), or closely related discipline.

    10+ years of relevant post-education experience in design, construction, and project management.


    A minimum of five years of the experience noted above shall be in the role of assistant project manager or project manager for projects above $5M in construction cost.

    Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams as a subconsultant and/or prime consultant.

    Familiarity with all commonly used project delivery models (DBB, DB, CMGC, CMAR, P3, etc).


    Experience in project planning, risk management, cost and schedule management, and methods of analyzing and reporting project performance on financial and other KPIs.

    Negotiation skills within a context of conflicting interests.


    Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

    High level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

    Proficiency with MS Project and other project or task management applications.

    The ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

    Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or registered Architect.

    Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

    Experience managing mission critical, advanced manufacturing, or healthcare projects.

    Additional industry-specific certifications or registrations (LEED AP, DBIA, etc).

    Member of and/or active participant in local professional practice organizations.

    Flexibility to work and travel outside normal business hours as required.

    Compensation:

    Expected Salary:
    $111,200 - $198,200


    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.

    WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
