    Description
    Seeking a Senior Accountant for a multi-state food production manufacturing company.

    The ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience in general accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.

    As this role is a critical customer-facing role, you must be able to establish positive working relationships, understand customer needs and provide deliverables.


    What you will do:
    This position will lead the reporting and planning for financial and accounting activities of 1 of the company entities.

    Responsibilities will include governance reporting, managing the monthly close process, recommending optimal product pricing for key customers, and variance analyses to support sales, payroll, and plant metrics.

    This role is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial records and safeguarding of assets, ensuring a strong internal control environment.

    Governance ReportingManage the month end closing process and finalization of the general ledger.
    Review and collect cost summaries by product type.
    Reconcile plant balance sheet accounts.
    Variance analysis, able to identify and explain data variances.
    PricingReview key customer pricing changes with executive leadership team.
    Calculate price changes and update via internal systems.
    Partner with the organization to provide costing/margin perspective for appropriate pricing decisions.
    Recommend pricing changes based on ongoing data analysis.
    Estimate product costs to support quoting activities.

    Work closely with the procurement team to assist in negotiating competitive pricing, terms, and contracts to maximize cost-efficiencyStay abreast on industry trends, market performance, market conditions, and regulatory changes related to meat sourcing to assist in making informed decisions and mitigate risks.

    Fixed AssetsSupport the asset request process including expenditure tracking, development of return on investment, and completing asset creation requests.

    Sales / Payroll SupportProvide insights on achievement of plant key performance metrics with a strong focus on cost reduction and improved operating efficiencies.

    Provide analytical support with respect to projects including capital appropriations- new product development- and plant utilization/capacity/asset management issues.
    Complete payroll tax entry.

    Financial AnalysisPrepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.


    Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Develop and maintain annual budgets and financial forecasts, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with business objectives

    Financial Analysis:
    Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, and ROI assessments, to support decision-making and improve profitability.

    Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance and provide regular reports to managementRequirementsBachelors degree in accounting or finance.

    Experience with QuickBooks is highly preferred, working with FishBowl is a plus.
    Excellent knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principles and financial and internal controls.
    Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
    Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
