    This position is supporting the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense.

    Responsibilities:
    Develop and deploy the state-of-the-art ground operational system.
    Work beyond the bounds of their own organization to collaborate and influence others
    Erroneous decisions will result in significant non-compliance, risk to employees and /or the environments within which the company operates; The reputation of the company can be impacted
    Change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
    Extensive ability to present in clear and certain terms
    Subject matter expert in multiple fields
    Develop, modify and execute company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect
    Perform requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements under supervision of the lead systems engineer
    Perform technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements
    Perform customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (elements and components)
    Perform detailed technical analyses for a subsystem or system elements
    Develop and evaluate systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
    May provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properly
    May develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systems
    Participate in Modeling and Simulation
    Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
    Support the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
    May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees
    Independently determines proposed approach to solutions
    Contribute to the completion of major programs and projects
    Plan and execute project tasks for activities described above
    Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
    Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
    Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
    Design a complete and complex framework, system or product
    Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses
    Regular contact with senior levels of internal working groups
    Contact with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams across the company

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.
    Ability to Obtain Top Secret/ SCI Clearance
    Familiar with Agile philosophies and processes
    Extensive communication skills for interaction with executive leadership on items of significant importance (remediation, risk mgt., regulatory compliance, etc.)
    DevSecOps

    experience with some of the following platform/tools:

    AWS
    GitLab
    Kubernetes
    Docker
    Jenkins
    Ansible
    Terraform
    CI/CD pipeline development
    Test automation
    Missile Warning/Missile Tracking system

    integration, test, operations experience

    Preferred Skills:
    Satellite communications knowledge
    Ground to Satellite communication knowledge
    Ground operations experience
