    Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking a Staff Specialist - Pre-K Enrollment to support the development of a system of unified and common enrollment for Pre-K that is the same for all schools and eligible private providers, ensures access for all eligible students, and reflects the demographics of the enrolled student population.



    Essential Functions
    • Assists families with Pre-K enrollment queries and admissions procedures.
    • Oversees centralized Pre-K enrollment.
    • Organizes and inputs information into student management system.
    • Manages early admission to kindergarten and 1st Grade process.
    • Manages Pre-K waiver process.
    • Handles phone calls and emails from prospective Pre-K parents, staff, and stakeholders.
    • Plans and coordinates with the Office of Early Learning events and other important dates.
    • Answers application and enrollment inquiries from the public.
    • Maintains relevant records and documentation as required by the job.
    • Supports the overall work of the Early Childhood Education including support and collection of information for the website and partnerships.
    • Collects and manages documentation and correspondence to support the online registration system.
    • Serves as point of contact and coordinates support to the Pre-K district-wide program, including, but not limited to Office of Early Learning, Schools, Enrollment Officials, Office of Achievement and Accountability staff, parents, community organizations as well as internal departments.
    • Works in concert with Central Enrollment staff to support Pre-K enrollment processes, monitor and report program attendance, resolves, and manage concerns, and support community communication.
    • Collaborates with members of Central Enrollment team to research questions regarding the program and resolving any issues as requested.
    • Supports a centrally managed process for matching family's preferences with school options, promoting socioeconomically and racially diverse learning environments
    • Prepares and supports district-wide monitoring of Pre-K demographic data and K demographic data such as prior care and priority levels.
    • Prepares and supports district-wide professional development on Pre-K enrollment processes.
    • Works in collaboration with Data Specialist to disseminate raw data into user friendly terms and presentations to share with stakeholders.
    • Attends, supports, and/or facilitate at staff meetings/workshops/in-services.
    • Participates in Early Childhood professional development, events and/or meetings related to family engagement.
    • Monitors and supports regular communications to families, including face to face and/or virtual family engagement sessions for parents and community members.
    • Mentors or coach enrollment officials to increase skill and overall effectiveness.
    • Serves on district, state and national committees as requested.
    • Assists in the District's efforts to solicit ideas, values, and concerns from families about school and District decisions.
    • Coordinates and implement a plan for staff to achieve high quality certification.
    • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and the professional standards.

    Desired Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in education or related field. Master's degree preferred. Degree must be from an accredited college or institute.
    • Certifications required:
    • Three years of early childhood experience.
    • Considerable knowledge of data and tracking systems.
    • Knowledge of local library resources.
    • Ability to generate and build effective and successful partnerships across multiple offices and organizations.
    • Understanding of the local political landscape in Baltimore City.
    • Interpersonal skills that ensure effective team building.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make persuasive presentations to diverse audiences and community members and distil complex information for ease of communication.
    • Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications.
