    Description

    We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor who will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the daily operational activities to ensure the efficient and safe generation of steam and electricity from biomass sources at a power plant in Southern California.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supervision & Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of operational staff, including operators & technicians
    • Establish clear performance expectations & provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations

    Operational Efficiency:

    • Monitor and supervise the day-to-day activities of the power plant to ensure efficient and reliable operation
    • Coordinate the dispatch of equipment, optimize resource allocation, and manage equipment start-up, shutdown, and load changes
    • Implement and refine operational procedures to enhance overall plant performance and productivity

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment

    Equipment Maintenance & Reliability:

    • Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment inspections
    • Monitor the condition of the performance of plant equipment
    • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and optimize equipment reliability

    Emergency Response & Incident Management:

    • Lead the operations team in responding to emergencies, equipment failures, and safety incidents

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and other departments to optimize plant performance, troubleshoot challenges, and support projects
    • Provide operational insights and expertise to project planning

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for operational enhancements, efficiency improvements, and cost-saving measures
    • Assist with plant performance optimization

    REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience
    • Plant operations experience
    • Power generation, biomass boiler, steam turbine experience
