    Description

    As a Mechanical Engineer supporting New Product Development, you'll exhibit expertise in a variety of mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures. You will play an integral role in the new product design process, supporting product development from concept to production. Working closely with the New Product Development team, you'll present mechanical concepts and solutions, translate 3D surface models into functional mechanical parts, and design various components and assemblies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Participates in the new product design process from conception to production.
    • Interfaces and collaborates with suppliers, customers, and other staff.
    • Present mechanical concepts and solutions clearly to the New Product Development team.
    • Translate 3D surface models of industrial designs into functional mechanical parts and assemblies for manufacturing.
    • Designs sheet metal, extrusions, die castings, plastic moldings, and assemblies.
    • Performs cost estimate analysis.
    • Performs electrical and mechanical interfacing analysis and integrates mechanical designs with mating electrical assemblies.
    • Creates and checks 2D drawings that comply with ANSI Y14.5 standards.
    • Performs analysis of assembly methods, and part tolerance stack up.
    • Control BOM, Document Control, and Manufacturing data for all designs.
    • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree required.
    • Must have experience in mechanical product design (4+ years post-graduate experience preferred).
    • Must be proficient in Solidworks (solids, surfacing, assemblies, drawings, analysis).
    • Must be comfortable working on multiple projects with varying levels of complexity at the same time.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in multiple CAD platforms (Creo, SolidEdge, Autodesk, etc.).
    • Knowledge of thermal dynamics, material composition, and material properties.
    • Familiarity with the integration of complete 12V audio systems including source units, speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers.
