The Job

We are looking for a clever, collaborative and curious person, with solid experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer, to come join Alphero on a contract basis.

In this role you will be working as part of a warm and supportive team, contributing to the architecture and delivery of exceptional and impactful products for our clients.

You will be confident in the implementation of backend services (including APIs) in AWS, and on a daily basis, enjoy hands-on coding and leading work-streams.

You will take pride in the elegance and quality of your solutions, and love to continuously improve it as you go.

Being part of an agency (that builds products) means you'll get to be involved in the full lifecycle of a product - and you'll be working on really interesting projects from cutting edge health technology, to online self-service channels, and new digital products.

Working in a consulting business means good communication is vital, but you can do this in your own style.

Areas of focus

Creating understandable, supportable, high quality code for all layers of the application, and across a range of projects.

Utilising and building on your knowledge of cloud services, and working with the team on solutions leveraging Typescript and AWS.

Delivering exceptional products for our clients - from bringing to life gorgeous user interfaces to taking care to ensure the security and privacy of the user's data.

About you

We're looking for people with 5+ years experience and you may have come from a client or an agency background.

Ideally you have experience with cloud technology frameworks such as (or equivalent to) AWS Fargate or EC2, API Gateways, AWS VPCs and Networking, and possibly building Lambdas (using Typescript / NodeJS), AWS CDK, DynamoDB, AWS Aurora (PostgresSQL), Cloud-front and S3.

This is a contract role based in Wellington, and is in-office. We are keeping this search focused on New Zealand based people, with visas.
Flexibility around hours and the option for hybrid working with a day or two WFH a week. Plus three months paid parental leave for the primary carer, two weeks for secondary. And everyone gets a day off on their birthday
