    You'll be part of one of the biggest heavy civil general contractors in the country.

    As a Heavy Civil Estimator, you'll play a crucial role in the construction industry. Your responsibilities will include:

    Project Estimation:
    • Prepare accurate estimates for heavy civil construction projects, which may range from highways and bridges to water treatment facilities.
    • Collaborate with the construction team to assess change orders and claims.
    • Conduct quantity take-offs from project drawings.
    • Incorporate addendums to plans and specifications into ongoing estimates.
    Cost Analysis and Budgeting:
    • Review cost estimates provided by others to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and site conditions.
    • Analyze sub-trade quotations and liaise with subcontractors for clarification.
    • Determine labor rates and equipment costs.
    • Prepare budgets and buyout plans.
    Value Engineering and Risk Assessment:
    • Provide value engineering options and associated costs.
    • Identify risk areas and bring them to the attention of risk management.
    • Review job cost reports to improve estimating processes.
    Bid Preparation and Presentation:
    • Assemble bid estimates based on the original schedule.
    • Monitor trade publications for project leads.
    • Prepare bid bond applications.
    • Create bid presentations for senior management.
    Qualifications and Skills:
    • Minimum of 15 years of heavy civil construction experience in a construction and/or estimating role.
    • Thorough understanding of the heavy civil construction industry.
    • The ability to read and interpret plans and specifications for heavy civil projects.
