    Avera is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Occupational Health Team

    Position Highlights:

    Job Summary

    • Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
    • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population of patients in the department.
    • Promotes health and safety practices, delivers health and safety programs and services that help prevent illness, injury and environmental hazards inside organizations and within a clinic setting.
    • Counsels employees on health and wellness.
    • Works with employers to ensure compliance with regulations for workplace safety.
    • Works with employers to develop and provide innovative and business-compatible health and safety programs in work environments.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Two year RN degree with 3 years experience having worked in the Occupational Health or related field required.
    • Bachelor's degree and Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse preferred.
    • Three years previous experience in medical, emergency, surgical, pediatric or occupational health nursing required.
    • Duties require intensive knowledge of a highly specialized field and broad knowledge of major Occupational Health functions or activities.
    • Must be competent in phlebotomy skills.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

    • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota.
    • Basic Life Support certification is mandatory within one month of employment.
    • Certifications in the following required: Breath Alcohol Technician, Drug Screen Collections within one month of employment.
    • CAOHC, Spirometry, and ergonomic certifications may be required within one year of employment.

    Work Schedule

    • Varied Shifts: 8:00am-4:30pm, and 9:00am-4:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks
    • Every fourth weekend
    • Occasional holidays
