- Provides legal advice regarding corporate leases including: (i) the drafting, award and administration of all corporate leases on behalf of the FDIC administered by the Corporate Services Branch of DOA; (ii) field office leases; (iii) corporate facilities matters, including property tax appeals; (iv) general real estate issues, and (v) FDIC's foreclosure policy with respect to 12 U.S.C. 1825(b).
- Prepares and oversees the preparation of contracts for the acquisition of goods and services. Prepares and continually monitors and evaluates the FDIC's standard contract documents, assisting and advising the Division of Administration (DOA) with updating these documents on an as-needed basis.
- Advises the principal attorney in charge of preparing and presenting leasing or real estate-related cases in litigation.
- Advises Corporation executives, senior managers, supervisors and staff on a variety of leasing and contract-related issues and assists the DOA or designee along with Regional Director and regional managers on matters arising from the Acquisition Services Branch and the Corporate Services Branch.
- Participates in briefing Dallas Audit Review Committee.
- Reviews and evaluates legal documents and provides interpretation of policies and procedures related to the FDIC's contracting, leasing, facilities management programs, and leasing delegations of authority, and is responsible for determining the best course of action for the Corporation relating to these matters.
- Education: All attorney and law clerk trainee positions have a minimum requirement of completing a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited school (accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
- Bar Membership: All attorney positions require current active bar membership (hold active license to practice law). Admission to the bar of any State, territory, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, or Federal Court is acceptable. Employees must maintain active bar membership while employed as an attorney with the FDIC. Active Bar membership must be verified prior to appointment.

- Ability to perform functions in support of the Legal Division's interpretation of policies and procedures related to the FDIC's contracting, leasing, facilities management programs, and other matters.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here.
To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience as assisting in the drafting and awarding of leases and contracts; and providing legal advice and counsel regarding contracts and leases.
This position has a positive education requirement, transcripts must be provided showing degree conferred. Official transcripts must be provided prior to appointment.See requirements stated under QUALIFICATIONS.

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office at least 1 day per pay period beginning January 2, 2024, and at their supervisor's direction to support mission and project needs.
