Description
Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
The duties of a Nurse Practitioner - APRN mid-level provider include, but are not limited to, providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from newborns to geriatric OR 18 yrs.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
# Examine patients and record history
# Adhere to proper charting protocols
# Discuss with Physician and other health care professionals to prepare comprehensive plan
# Order or execute tests or images as needed
# Submit health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review by Physician
# Analyze results of tests, diagnose and report to patient
# Administer or prescribe treatment and medications
# Promote health by advising patient on diet, hygiene and prevention of disease
# Inoculate and vaccinate as required
# Refer to specialist as required for patient's well-being
# Perform minor surgery
# Report deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authorities
# Other responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
# Must have and maintain current State of New Mexico license in good standing
# Current National Board Certification
# Mush have and maintain current DEA
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
# Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills
# Show initiative, creativity and problem-solving ability
# Ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
# Prior experience using an electronic medical records system
# Bilingual a preferred, but not required (English/Spanish)
RELATIONSHIP REPORTING
Reports to the Clinic Administrator/Chief of Staff
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
# Ability to communicate effectively with patients
# Ability to collaborate with colleagues as necessary to provide quality health care
# Ability to use a computer, printer and scanner
# Ability to sit, stand or view a computer screen for extended periods of time
# Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time
# Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
# Ability to reach with hands and arms
