    Job Description:

    PURPOSE OF JOB :
    To provide Administrative coverage and representation from Monday through Friday and 0700 to 0700 on weekends and holidays

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
    Utilizes managerial skills to effectively coordinate and evaluate hospital operations and implement alternative adjustments or accommodations as necessary. Utilizes critical assessment, evaluation and decision-making skills to implement emergency procedures in the event of internal/external disasters or emergencies. Utilizes expert knowledge of the nursing process and application of nursing care principles to ensure quality patient care. Consideration to age-specific criteria in evaluating patient needs in all clinical areas.

    Maintains clinical proficiency and knowledge of nursing policies and procedures in order to effectively represent hospital administration and service as a clinical resource to all departments.

    Maintains current knowledge of administrative, human resource and risk management polices and procedures in order to appropriately intervene in the best interest of the institution, staff and patient.

    Evaluation of new and existing staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education:
    Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department f State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. BSN required.


    Experience:
    Five years' experience as a staff nurse, critical care experience. Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience or comparable charge nurse experience required.


    Other Skills:
    ACLS required Certification in Specialty Nursing or Nursing Administration preferred. Excellent communication skills. Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills required.
