    Primary ResponsibilitiesHDR Engineering is looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer/Inspector to joinour National Infrastructure Inspection Team. The Senior BridgeEngineer/Inspector will be expected to perform local and national bridge,tunnel, and structural inspections and requires familiarity with a broadspectrum of bridge inspection equipment, methods, and processes. Thecandidate will conduct National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS)inspections, write field inspection reports, and perform basicmathematical calculations. Field inspections will be performed from groundlevel, hydraulic equipment, ladder access, or using rope accesstechniques. As an inspection team leader, the candidate will providesupervision of the inspection team and provide support to the Project Managersin planning inspection activities. Occasional office engineering (design,CADD, analysis, etc) may be required.

    ResponsibilitiesLead bridge inspection teams, develop inspection reports, and performstructural load calculations.Manage projects and support marketing efforts for proposals.Must be willing to work with other disciplines (bridge design, roadwaydesign, hydraulic analysis, stream restoration, planning, trafficcontrol) within the office, as necessary, during inspection downtime.Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel formultiple night stays during the week.Willingness to travel within the Unites States to inspection sites.This position requires physical ability to perform field inspections ofin-service bridge and culvert structures, tunnel structures, highwaystructures, overhead sign structures, hydraulic structures, and metaltraffic signal poles. Physical demands include positioning extensionladders, maneuvering small boats, driving long distances, confinedspace, air travel, occasionally working at night, and walking longdistances on uneven surfaces.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated leadershipskills, communication skills, and ability to work with variousmulti-disciplinary teamsCandidate should expect exposure to environmental hazards, such as, butnot limited to, warm and cold temperatures, water, work-at-height,confined spaces, poisonous plants, snakes, ticks, spiders, and othercreatures.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of ouremployee-owned culture is a must.Perform other duties as needed.QualificationsQualificationsBS in Civil Engineering required.MS in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.Registered Professional Engineer required.Minimum of 9 years' bridge/structural inspection and design experiencerequired.NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Training required.NHI Bridge Inspector Refresher Training required.NHI Inspection of Fracture Critical Steel Bridges Training required.NHI Tunnel Safety Inspection Training preferred.Current Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT)Certification as a Level II or III with a min mum of 500 hours as a ropeaccess team member preferred.American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Certification as aLevel II or III preferred.American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.Mobile Elevating Working Platform (MEWP) Operator Certification forscissor lifts, manlifts, and under bridge inspection vehicles (UBIV) required.UAS Pilot (FAA Part 107 certification) with structural inspectionexperience preferred.Experience in asset management data software (AASHTOWare BrM, AssetWise,inspectX, etc.) required.Experience in load rating software (AASHTOWare BrR, BRASS, CANDE,etc.) required.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also aboutwhat you do and how you do it.
