- Assist the AAC in the supervision of a group of attorneys and paralegals providing litigation support to the IRS.
- Assist the AAC in providing technical guidance on Tax Court litigation activities performed by the Group and assists the AAC in making determinations with respect to settlement of cases independently, or in consultation with the AAC or other senior managers.
- Advise the AAC on management and legal matters within the Group's jurisdiction, advising the AAC on unusual, sensitive, or potentially controversial cases, or issues requiring further development or elevation.
- Assist the AAC in establishing procedures to review and evaluate the effectiveness of Group litigation services and programs.
- Participate with AAC in promoting information sharing among the Group and other Counsel components, along with the IRS Appeals and Compliance functions in order to encourage communication networks and maintain awareness of new developments and initiatives which could impact Group or Area programs, goals or operations.
- Assist the AAC in ensuring that staff activities are coordinated, as appropriate, with other SB/SE personnel, and other Division and Associate Chief Counsel Offices.
