Product Manager, Materials - Ridgefield, United States - Tekni-Plex

Summary
The Product Manager, Materials (PM) will drive the growth and profitability of the Tekni-Plex's medical materials product line in the NALA Region.
The PM, as a member of Tekni-Plex's Medical Device Product Management team, will contribute to shaping the product-line strategies/ plans and ensure the implementation of those strategies/ plans in the NALA region.
Key areas of responsibility includeCollaborate and implement the materials product-line strategies in the region
Develop and own the Product and Service offers consistent with the region's capabilities
Partner with Sales to drive growth
Ensure delivery of the material product-line P & L and drive profit maximization in the region
Assist in developing plans, forecasts, and budgets for the material product lines
Ensure and support the implementation of the Marketing Communication Strategy for the materials product line within the region
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of Product Management function include the following:
Co-Develop and implement medical products strategy
Collaborate across functions to assist with the development of the medical products strategy, including the identification and prioritization of market segments and opportunities within the region
Develop and actively drive the materials product line value propositions to maximize value capture
Gather competitive intelligence and assist in developing benchmarking positions
Develop and own the Product & Service Offer
Review the product portfolio and identify and prioritize opportunities within the region
Develop the materials product line roadmap consistent with the region's capabilities and the global product strategies
Ensure execution of the New Product Development process in the region in conjunction with the product line technology functions and/or with the Global Innovation Center (GIC) where appropriate
Collaborate to develop and ensure execution of launch plans for new products and services for the materials product lines
Maintain segmentation and product data hierarchy for the materials product line
Partner with Sales to drive Growth
Provide and maintain sales product information and selling guides for materials
Develop Ideal Customer Profiles to support the sales process for materials
Support the development and implementation of lead generation plans
Provide and assist in the qualification of leads
Prepare Win/Loss evaluations to better understand competitive dynamics and guide sales and pricing strategies
Function as Product Specialist in support of sales
Prioritize and coordinate technical support activities with Technology and Operations for opportunities
Own proposal boilerplate for material product lines
Maintain the proposal library
Ensure delivery of the P&L and drive Profit Maximization
Execute Pricing Strategy in the region
Set and implement pricing policy and commercial terms
Analyze pricing performance
Ensure pricing alignment to strategy
Ensure pricing compliance to policy
Provide analysis to support pricing decisions
Review profitability analysis by customer, market segment and product line
Identify opportunities for improvement and best practices
Own profitability and pricing for materials in the region
Develop Product line Plans, Forecasts, and Budgets
Monitor plant product capacity to support growth
Lead the sales, operations, and inventory planning for materials
Maintain product line forecasts with input from the sales team
Prepare product line budget in collaboration with the sales team
Partner with Global Marketing to develop and implement the Marketing Communications Strategy for the medical material product lines
Implement annual Market Communications Plan for the region
Create White Papers, Press Releases etc. to generate Brand awareness
Assist in selecting trade shows to build Brand awareness and generate leads
Update the Tekni website information for our material offerings is up to date
Operating Model considerations for the Product Manager, Materials NALA
Member of Product Management Peer Team for Medical Device. Work to insure product line strategies are implemented within the NALA region as appropriate
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or sciences.
Experience:
Minimum 6+ years full-time experience in compounding process technology with knowledge of material formulations, specifically PVC and TPE materials
Minimum of 5+ years full-time experience in plastics processing technology, specifically hands on experience in extrusion and injection molding processes
Experience working in the Medical industry, a plus
Proven track record for solving complex problems
Ability to work independently, proactive nature
Experience in product management, sales, marketing, and/or financial analysis is strongly preferred
Skills:
Excellent analytical capabilities and proactive independence in solving a broad range of situations and problems under tight deadlines, including ability to design tools and processes when needed; Must be able to communicate/monitor/measure/lead initiatives to ensure proper execution by Sales and other functions; Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal & written) with a diverse range of people across various functions
Ability to travel up to 20%
This will be a homebased position with regular travel to our Ridgefield Site.
