    Job Description / Primary Objective

    PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. has a proud and lengthy history of delivering innovative, challenging, and complex projects. Be a part of our dynamic PMCM rail project team in Santa Ana, CA.

    This role will be responsible for helping to lead a team of highly skilled construction management professionals to successfully deliver a rail project.

    Responsibilities & Duties

    Act as one of the client's authorized representative in matters related to the construction phase of the rail project.

    Help administer the Construction Contract between the client and the Contractor, and any other contract for equipment or material purchases between the client and vendors or for services between client and service providers for Work incorporated into the Project.

    Perform quality assurance inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on all phases of construction, such as paving, structures, grading, drainage, sewer, water, utility relocation, electrical installation, sign installation and landscaping items.

    Perform quantity calculations for progress pay estimates and keep project records.
    Direct efforts to comply with all elements of the project's Safety and Security
    Management Plan and Safety and Security Certification Plan.
    Perform safety and environmental compliance inspection/audits ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and client requirements.
    Direct the incident investigation process.
    Verify that all safety and environmental incidents are proactively mitigated.
    Direct all incident investigation efforts and verify corrective actions are implemented and documented through closure.
    Perform design for minor changes and make design estimates for contract change orders.
    Perform analytical calculations for items such as basic earthwork and grading, and redesigning facilities to fit existing field conditions.

    Help maintain continuous communication with the client's staff, the DC's staff, field personnel, public outreach personnel, and with project neighbors to resolve community project problems and to advise them of work conditions affecting the neighborhood.

    Requirements (Education, Level of Experience, etc.)

    Qualifications & Skills

    10+ years relevant construction management experience on the construction of rail transit projects of $500 million plus
    Possess experience with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements for agency funded rail projects and Systems Start-Up.
    5+ years' experience as a RE, acting as the Owner's representative.
    Possess a California P.E. license.
    Ability to work independently and perform all construction management field office duties.
    Thorough knowledge of construction practices, and the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
    Ability to make effective decisions concerning field problems and Work in progress.
    Proficient in the use of computer application programs Word and Excel.
    Current OSHA 10 Hour Certification.
