    Job Description – IT Reporting Analyst

    Scope of Work :
    A more detailed scope of work may be further defined with the Contractor but the preliminary scope is as follows:
    The Reporting Analyst is responsible for interacting with the Business Owner/Departments and the complete Report Development Life Cycle (RDLC). The analyst identifies, analyzes, collects data, tests and validates defects, issues and inquiries for production reports.

    The analyst also assists in documenting business requirements, detailed design documents, report requirements and test scenarios and works with business owner/departments through User Acceptance Testing and subsequently deployment to production.

    The Reporting Analyst is responsible for provision of as needed data necessary to sustain business operations, facilitate scheduling and monitoring or automated data production and establish and insure adherence to performance based metrics related to database server(s) operation.

    This consultant will receive direction from and report to the Management Information Systems Manager.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all supported application reports.
    Serve as customer main point of contact for application report and data related questions/issues.
    Analyze production report issues to appropriately identify and resolve issues/defects.
    Uses progressive utilities (i.e. MS SQL Server Databases, SSRS, and SSIS) to execute and troubleshoot production reports and scheduled data extraction events.
    Insures timely categorization, documentation, and fulfillment of ad-hoc report requests.
    Provider SME support to the Reporting team in the establishment , and monitoring scheduled data extraction events.

    Monitors database performance and related reports to maintain performance efficiency and suggests applicable opportunities for improvement pertaining to report structure.

    Identifies defects and provides follow-up investigation and detail through resolution including engagement of operational and vendor entities to insure adequate status communication and accepted approach to resolution.

    Perform data collection and validation to support application report defect resolution process and maintains applicable documentation.
    Provide testing and production support by validating resolved defects.
    Coordinates defect deployment schedules and production defect prioritization.
    Maintain understanding of managed care industry

    guidelines/mandates

    and insure technical/system and process compliance.
    Participate in project and team status meetings relative to duties.

    SQL based query writing and Server Report Services (SSRS);
    SQL Scripting

    (create/read/maintain) ;
    Business Objects tools including Crystal Reports and relational databases;
    Relational database concepts, including primary and foreign keys and joins;
    Report writing tools;
    Data gathering and presentation techniques;
    Data warehouses/data stores and data marts;
    HIPAA and

    organization/department

    level security policies and procedures;

    Managed Care operation concepts and principles;
    Business system applications used in customer departments;
    Complex information systems applications;
