    MONTH CONTRACT

    BUSINESS ANALYST

    GOAL:


    We are looking for a Business Analyst to document functional requirements for data and reporting needs in relation to the implementation of a new reporting tool.


    Responsibilities include working with Business Process Owners to understand, assess, and document functional requirements for needed reports and the data required for those reports.

    Additional responsibilities include working with report developers and data modelers in communicating these needs for their work. The

    ideal candidate will have proficiency with process flow diagramming techniques, meeting facilitation, and requirements documentation along with a background working in education.


    Responsibilities:
    Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
    Analyzes business partners operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions
    Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology
    Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications
    Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business
    Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation
    Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprises competitive edge
    May make recommendations for buy vs. build decision.


    Qualifications & Experience:
    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Education, or other related field
    Five (5) to Eight (8) years of relevant technical or business work experience


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Excellent use of verbal communication skills
    Excellent written presentation and documentation skills
    Ability to think ahead, see the big picture and improvise
    Excellent organizational skills paying close attention to detail
    Strong skills with Microsoft Office
    Demonstrated success managing, working with people in establishing goals, objectives, and action plans to produce expected results
