Summary:
Monitors patient drug therapy; interprets, evaluates and fills valid physician orders, medication reorders and pharmacy requisitions; and provides information concerning all aspects of drug therapy to ensure the timely, accurate and appropriate administration of medications and IV solutions to patients of all ages in accordance with all state and federal regulations, established peer standards and Hospital policies and procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
B.S. in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Experience:
Six (6) months on-the-job internship.
License:
New York State Pharmacy License and Registration
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FACTORS
Physical:
Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of standing at files or work tables, repeated changes of position within the work routine or prolonged sitting.
Periodic eye or ear strain (less than 50% of the time).Mental:
Work demands may impose home and social life inconvenience, even though predictable on most occasions and regular volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular and routine exposure to a variety of unpleasant physical working conditions, and frequent exposure to injury or occupational or contagious disease hazards which require routine precautions.
