IT Security Developer Senior

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an IT Security Developer Senior to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining secure IT architectures within the GPO enterprise. This role focuses on supporting the Technical Reference Model (TRM) and IT Operations (ITOps) environments, with a strong emphasis on authoring Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and ensuring compliance with NIST and FISMA standards. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of cybersecurity architecture with hands-on experience implementing secure systems within Federal environments.

The Government Publishing Office (GPO) SecDevOps program provides advanced security, development, and operations support to safeguard federal information systems and infrastructure. This initiative integrates cybersecurity best practices with agile development and IT operations to ensure continuous security, compliance, and resilience across GPO's enterprise IT services. The mission is to protect and enable GPO's digital transformation by delivering secure, scalable, and reliable IT services in alignment with federal cybersecurity mandates and operational excellence standards.

This position is remote, however candidates located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area (DMV) are highly preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior IT Security Developer will:

• Support the development and maintenance of GPO's Technical Reference Model (TRM) by aligning architectural designs with cybersecurity requirements.
• Produce project documentation such as technical research reports, risk analyses, and system architecture diagrams.
• Define technology roadmaps that incorporate evolving security controls and enterprise capabilities.
• Partner with ITOps branches (Infrastructure, Network Messaging, Enterprise Services, Customer Support) to embed security controls in system design and operations.
• Contribute to security design reviews, risk assessments, and secure configuration baselines for enterprise systems.
• Lead the development and maintenance of RMF Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages in alignment with NIST SP and SP
• Create, update, and manage RMF artifacts, including Security Assessment Reports (SARs), System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and security control implementation summaries.
• Ensure system security documentation aligns with FISMA requirements and passes audit and compliance reviews.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• 8 years of experience in IT security architecture, system development, or cybersecurity engineering within a Federal or regulated environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related disciplines (or equivalent experience)
• Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework, FISMA requirements, and technical standards including SP 800-37, 800-53, and Experience designing or integrating secure systems within ITOps, infrastructure, or network environments. Proficient in documenting complex system architectures and security designs.
• Federal experience (preferred)
• Certifications (preferred): CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
