    Job Summary

    The PC Desktop Technician II will provide technical and administrative support to internal and external users across the organization. Maintain parts inventory and log all service/repair activity for printers, plotters, and other devices. Utilize the service desk ticketing system to track all service requests. Perform system setups for new hires. Assist the PC Helpdesk Technician with all incoming calls, email requests, and tickets for technical support. Works with computer software to configure, test, diagnose and correct configurations. Train users on various basic operating system tools and software. Assist with the phone system.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Performs hardware setup and installation of applications for new and existing users.
    • General IT support including phones, computers, and software.
    • Provides technical support for our Americas operations for internal and external users on a variety of hardware and software problems.
    • Work with the helpdesk system by offering support or collecting data.
    • Work with the PC Helpdesk Technician and the Senior Systems Technician to diagnose and troubleshoot network outages and to maintain network continuity.
    • Assist with the operation of application software, including but not limited to: Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and communication software, web applications and anti-virus.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot all printer and plotter issues.
    • Maintain the software inventory logs.
    • Assist with maintaining the phone system and troubleshooting issues.
    • Attend and participate in departmental meetings and committees to discuss issues and contribute to departmental projects.
    • Ability to lift computers, monitors, and boxes up to 25 lbs.
    • Ability to crawl or stoop under desks as needed to reach network jacks or power outlets.

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
    • Knowledge of Networking – LAN, WAN, and cabling.
    • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware.
    • Office 365 administration.
    • Windows 10 installation/configuration via deployment software.
    • Ability to travel on occasion.
    • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Good time management skills.
    • Experience working both independently, and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong verbal, written and, interpersonal communication skills.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma required. Associate's degree preferred.
    • 7-10 years of related experience.
    • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or similar.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift computers, monitors, and boxes up to 25 lbs.
    • Ability to crawl or stoop under desks as needed to reach network jacks or power outlets.
    • Ability to climb ladders to reach wireless access points mounted on the ceiling.
