Located in the critical setting of the Naval Healthcare Clinic in Charleston, South Carolina, this role necessitates direct, on- location engagement. The successful applicant will lead our efforts in administrating, securing, and optimizing Windows Server environments, aligning operations with stringent Department of Defense (DoD) security mandates. This position calls for a technically proficient approach to both system administration and cybersecurity, aiming at risk reduction, compliance adherence, and ensuring continuous operation of IT services.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Security Clearance: Mandatory possession of DoD Secret Clearance.
    • Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, focusing on Information Technology, complemented by a minimum of eight years' experience in DoD Systems Administration or Engineering roles.
    • Certification Requirements: Compliance with DOD 8570 mandates. Possession of, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment, Security+ and relevant Microsoft Certifications. Certifications such as Security+ CAP or CASP are strongly preferred.
    Experience:
    • At least four years in a Windows Systems Administration role, with a preference for candidates possessing prior DoD experience.
    • A minimum of two years dedicated to supporting system security authorization processes under RMF and preceding regulations.
    • In-depth knowledge of DoD IT Security, Information Assurance policies, and regulatory frameworks.
    Core Responsibilities:
    • Administer, secure, and enhance Windows Server infrastructures by implementing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and adhering to Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to address vulnerabilities.
    • Utilize Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) to deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft operating systems including Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, ensuring system integrity and compliance.
    • Manage Active Directory components (Users, Groups, OUs, DNS, DHCP), optimizing Microsoft Active Directory configurations for maximum security and efficiency.
    • Execute Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes, involving the development of RMF Control Family packages, security control analyses, risk assessments, and contingency planning. Utilize the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for compliance documentation and management.
    • Employ Tenable's Automated Continuous Endpoint Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Nessus for vulnerability scanning, alongside the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker for adherence to benchmarks, actively mitigating cybersecurity vulnerabilities and findings.
    • Address Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) directives, ensuring timely identification, response, and mitigation of vulnerabilities to maintain system security and operational readiness.
    • Guide the RMF accreditation life cycle for designated systems, fostering stakeholder collaboration and uninterrupted IT service delivery, leveraging project management tools like Phoenix for accreditation timeline oversight.
    • Develop, maintain, and update documentation, security policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for regulatory compliance and accreditation, aligning with organizational objectives and DoD mandates.
    • Lead and participate in Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) activities, aiding system certifiers during the evaluation process.
    • Produce and disseminate regular status updates, maintaining effective communication with clients regarding operational activities, challenges, and support needs.
    Professional Aptitudes:
    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
    • Proficient organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
    • Effective communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating successful teamwork and customer interaction.
    • Deep understanding of federal security regulations and frameworks, including RMF, NIST SP 800-series, FISMA, FIPS, and FedRAMP.
