    Description
    Staffworks Group has immediate openings for a Diesel Mechanic various locations in Rhode Island

    This is a full time permanent (No per diem) position that pays $ $35.00/hr or more depending on experience.

    Minimum Experience: 1-year Marine Diesel Mechanic experience


    Diesel Technicians inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel engines and marine drive systems for Volo Penta, Volvo IPS, Cummins, MerCruiser Diesel, Yanmar and Westerbeke.

    *Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Inspect, troubleshoot maintain, and repair multiple OEM brands of diesel engines on boats of all kinds
    • Conduct all facets of engine repower projects
    • Basic knowledge of rigging to remove and install engines and transmissions
    • Utilize diagnostic equipment to diagnose issues and identify action plans
    • Access online parts manuals across OEM brands to identify and source parts
    • Overall knowledge of marine drive systems including vibration troubleshooting and alignment
    • Must possess own tools
    • Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines
    *Technical and Physical Requirements
    • Diesel Technical school training (preferred)
    • 1-year Marine Diesel & 5 years' diesel mechanic experience (preferred)
    • ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
    • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder carrying personal tools
    • Ability to work in confined spaces
