    Position Overview


    The Pr oduct Line Sales Specialist generates and secures new sales within a specific pr oduct line to increase the pr ofitability of the company.

    This position maintains existing acc o u nt s while generating new business in pr oduct line specialty through cold calls and following leads.


    Pay Rate:
    $45, $60,000.00 annually.

    Essential Job Duties

    Develop short- and long-term growth plans and targets for specialty pr oduct line based on research and sales forecast.

    Assist Pr oduct Line Manager with developing a timeline for rollout of pr oduct line s to the market.

    Develop new customer acc o u nt s through making cold calls, working potential customer lists, contacting subcontractors in the area, contacting companies who pr eviously rejected pr oposals, etc.

    Function as key sales contact for customers offering and selling a full breadth of the pr oduct line through the inside sales team.

    Partner with Inside Sales Support in coordinating quoting, orders, deliveries, etc. with the outside sales re pr esentative.
    Mentor outside sales re pr esentatives on new pr oduct line offerings.

    Work with the Pr oduct Line Manager to monitor activities and pr oducts of the competition to suggest new pr oducts into market.

    Maintain positive relations with manufacturer field personnel.
    Attend and participate in all company-sponsored training pr ograms as required .
    Re pr esent Company at trade association meetings to pr omote business and develop relationships as required .

    Collaborate with Pr oduct Line Manager and Purchasing Manager to assist in pr icing special orders with local sales team.

    Advise the company and clients immediately of pr ice changes from manufacturer.
    Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and pr edictable attendance.
    Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety pr ocedures; maintain a safe environment.
    Perform other duties as assigned by location management.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Minimum education required - High School diploma or G.E.D. Associate degree in related industry is pr eferred.
    Minimum experience required - 3 years of sales experience in building materials or related industry.
    Special skills required - Minimum 2 years sales experience in specific pr oduct line . Ability to read, inter pr et and estimate from blue pr ints; ability to use calculator and computer. Ability to negotiate pr ices and contractual agreements. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service. Pr oficient in MS Office pr oducts.
    Physical demands include ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and 50 lbs. on a random basis, work in extreme weather conditions. Sitting, stooping, bending, standing or walking for extended periods of time.


    Other - Ability to travel 75% of the time and perform acc o rding to the requirements of the position.

    Must have valid driver's license and pr oof of insurance.
