    Description
    DutiesYou will counsel clients, including senior clients, on the full range of the DON OGC's practice.

    You will provide counsel with an emphasis on federal acquisition issues, including complex procurements, and will defend associated litigation before administrative bodies and federal courts.

    You will respond to questions of fiscal law and interpret legislation, regulations, and policy guidance with minimal managerial direction.

    Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.govWithin the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.

    You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. You will be subject to random testing.

    You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

    You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.

    To be eligible for selection at the GS-15 level, the applicant must have at least five and one-half years of recent, substantial, and relevant professional legal experience.


    Applicants will be evaluated on:
    (1) the depth, breadth, and qualify of their relevant federal acquisition, including litigation, and fiscal law experience; (2) their research, analytical, writing, and oral communication skills; Applicants should have a record of making significant contributions to the advancement of DON OGC or equivalent Office of the General Counsel or Law Firm/Office beyond the day-to-day legal practice. Currently possessing a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) will be considered a positive evaluation factor.
