The Data Engineer III plays a crucial role in analyzing, modeling, collecting, integrating, and preparing data for utilization. Responsibilities include managing data infrastructure, designing data pipelines, implementing solutions, and ensuring data quality, security, and compliance standards are met. The Data Engineer also focuses on enhancing data reliability and quality, merging information from diverse sources to create cohesive data sets. Proficiency in DataOps and offering technical guidance to fellow Data Engineers are key requirements.

Data Engineers design and construct data solutions and integrations encompassing a range of data platforms, software, hardware, and technologies. They leverage approved technologies and recommend suitable solution options, occasionally working on application solutions involving various development platforms and tools.

The Data Engineer III is a senior role, typically engaged in medium to large integrated projects and leading smaller initiatives independently.

Data Acquisition:

• Enhance knowledge of structured and unstructured data sources within each product journey and emerging data sources
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data and reporting requirements
• Utilize data modeling techniques and cloud technologies for solution development
• Conduct rigorous testing to validate solution accuracy
• Ensure data tables and views are designed for integrity, efficiency, and comprehensibility

Move and Store Data:

• Manage data flow, infrastructure pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data movement solutions
• Design data models and flows for Data Analytics databases
• Establish data relationships between business and data areas
• Adhere to naming conventions and code standards

Support data exploration and transformation:

• Conduct data cleansing and assist team members with related tasks
• Identify and resolve data anomalies through profiling
• Execute data preparation tasks and implement process enhancements
• Develop infrastructure for efficient data extraction and loading

Support users and applications:

• Address operational data issues promptly
• Assist developers, data analysts, and data scientists with data interaction
• Analyze data quality problems and collaborate on infrastructure maintenance
• Monitor system performance and optimize where necessary
• Ensure storage capacity and reliability
• Resolve production issues efficiently and communicate effectively
• Provide data extracts and analysis for business needs

Team Priorities:

• Offer production support and network with product teams

Preferred qualifications include a 4-year degree in relevant fields like Computer Science, rigorous work experience, strong SQL and ETL/ELT skills, cloud database expertise, and familiarity with Azure, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile methodology. Remuneration and job title will be commensurate with qualifications and technical proficiency.
