    The work location for this position is inLewiston, Idaho

    Hours: 7:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Clinic- Medical Assistant (MA) has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The MA must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care. The MA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety. The MA demonstrates problem-solving skills as they relate to patient care activities, provides guidance for and acts as a role model for Medical Assistants in the clinical area.

    Primary Duties:

  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes and records patient history and vital signs.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and sterilization.
  • Gives injections, applies splints, dressings, and casting
  • May collect and/or transport specimens.
  • May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.

    Qualifications

    Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
  • Previous experience in a medical setting
  • Preferred:

  • National Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant through an accredited body, or current active LPN License in the state of Idaho, or current CNA License in the state of Idaho
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program that is accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or ABHES (Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record programs
