Description

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Alaska Region, Office the the Regional Director, Office of the Deputy Regional Director-Trust Services in Anchorage, Alaska.

NOTE:
TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE

Performs a wide variety of administrative duties and serves as point of contact in coordinating meetings, schedules, conferences, special projects and other key organizational activities.
Maintains office automation correspondence tracking system, providing input to and/or reviews all internal/external correspondence.
Serves as Records Coordinator, occasionally serving as team leader.
Receives and processes all incoming mail, faxes, and electronic mail.
Make travel arrangements, maintains office supplies and services.
Manages front desk and ensures all phone calls and visitors are directed to appropriate staff.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
(OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions, GS-0301).

GS-11: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level, I have at least 1 year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-9 in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector).

This experience must include assisting management servicing as point of contact for time keeping, budget/finance systems and Regional Freedom of Information Act (FOIA); recognizing workflow issues to be detrimental to the effective delivery of services; preparing and submitting requests for various actions, maintaining files, and handling and maintaining sensitive confidential information; performing assignments involving gathering data, analysis and development of responses to inquiries from higher level department; assist with tracking obligations and expenditures; participating in development and implementation of program activities and systems; making travel arrangements, arranging meetings, conferences, special projects and maintaining appointment schedules, OR PH.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

This experience must include assisting management by servicing as office manager assisting with various personnel actions; assist with gathering data, analysis and developing responses to inquiries; assist with timekeeping, budget and payroll duties; responsible for monitoring Undelivered Orders (UDO's); maintaining office supplies and services; making travel arrangements, arranging meetings, conferences, special projects and maintaining appointment schedules; responsible for incoming mail, updating and maintaining documents and correspondence tracking; primary contact among subordinates, OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B.

or J.D., if related.
