- Coordinate the day-to-day administrative functions of the President and CEO.
- Assist in the coordination of case activities from initial assignment to conclusion.
- Perform legal research involving statutes, orders, legal opinions, and case law for precedents and case applicability.
- Assist and coordinate political and fundraising outreach, including efforts to obtain and stabilize government funding through City of Jacksonville direct support and similar efforts.
- Analyze case documentation and summarize depositions, interviews, interrogatories, and other case documents.
- Draft motions, discovery requests, responses, and occasionally portions of legal opinions and briefs.
- Record and monitor case activities for compliance with legal time constraints.
- Interview witnesses and clients to obtain or clarify case preparation information.
- Assist with preparation for trials, organize evidence or exhibits, notes, and witnesses.
- Perform various other duties as assigned.
- Maintain relationships with paralegal programs.
- Assist with newsletters and updates for staff.
- Three (3) years experience as paralegal in civil litigation practice.
- Associate degree in paralegal studies, or paralegal certification from a nationally recognized organization.
- Prior experience in fundraising or lobbying efforts at the local (county) or statewide level.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google applications.
