    Description
    Ambassador Personnel is seeking an experienced Accountant for our client in the Montgomery, AL area. This is a direct-hire opportunity with an established nonprofit that offers excellent benefits. The Accountant will support operations by managing daily accounting operations, grants, benefits administration, reporting, internal controls, and compliance.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Lead Financial Operations and Financial Compliance-Lead Financial Planning and Sustainability Efforts-Manage the Financial Aspects of the Associations Operations, Grants, and Contracts-Utilize general cost accounting, reporting, and other related standards following GAAP.
    • Administer and Monitor Grants and Related Activities-Manage Staff Benefits Administration-Daily use of Sage Intacct for accounting, financial analysis, and reporting while serving as the platforms administrator, including account security, grant budget entries, and budget adjustments.
    • Develop and Administer Accounting and Related Policies and Procedures-Prepare and facilitate annual fiscal and single audits Ensure all organization statutory requirements are met, including necessary federal, state, and local tax filings and related activities.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting Required.
    • A minimum of five years of related accounting and audit experience required.
    • Grant accounting and compliance required.
    • CPA or Masters degree preferred.
    • Nonprofit experience preferred.
    • Sage Intacct accounting software preferred.
